Daily Routine
After a hearty lunch, the adventure continues with more active pursuits. The afternoon sees campers mastering their paddleboarding techniques, engaging in forest scavenger hunts, or building forts and shelters with natural materials. The picturesque beaches of Plumper Cove offer the ideal setting for beach games, swimming, and sandcastle building. Campers also have time to learn basic survival skills, such as knot-tying and outdoor cooking, while always keeping an eye out for native wildlife.
As the day winds down, evening activities revolve around campfires, where stories and laughter fill the air. Campers learn traditional songs, play charades, or take part in guided stargazing sessions. Dusk is also a time for quiet reflection or journaling, as the surrounding wilderness begins to darken and the sounds of nature intensify. Occasionally, group discussions focus on environmental stewardship, encouraging campers to think deeply about conservation while creating bonds with each other.
Nights at Fireside Kids Camp are all about fostering a strong connection to nature. After settling into their tents, campers fall asleep to the sounds of waves lapping against the shore and the wind rustling through the trees. Before bedtime, some nights include brief nocturnal wildlife hikes, with guides pointing out owls or other night creatures. The quiet serenity of Plumper Cove provides a perfect backdrop for peaceful rest, ensuring campers wake refreshed and ready for the next day's adventure.
Workshops
Fireside Kids Camp offers hands-on workshops designed to build essential life skills. Through communication games, recycling projects, and team-building exercises, participants learn the value of collaboration and environmental stewardship. The camp integrates lessons on Indigenous heritage and global citizenship, while fostering leadership and self-awareness. By engaging with topics such as Western climate change science and leadership dynamics, children increase their social-emotional learning and understanding of how their actions impact the world around them.
